BECOME AN INTERN

The Blueprint JD Internship program gives students a hands-on education in nonprofit management and social media journalism.

The Blueprint JD Internship Program provides students with an incredible opportunity to gain nonprofit experience, improve their research and writing skills, and connect with members of the legal community. Blueprint JD Interns are unpaid, academic credit-based positions.

The internship is designed to help increase Blueprint JD’s impact while offering students a rewarding and positive professional development experience.

As a Blueprint JD Intern, you will work directly with the founder and the Board of Directors on managing our growing nonprofit, identifying opportunities for diverse law students, and developing engaging blog content. The Blueprint JD Internship Program provides you with meaningful mentoring from diverse attorneys and entrepreneurial skills you can use to grow your own successful nonprofit or blog.

Below are a few examples of the projects you’d be able to choose from:

  • Create and implement a social media marketing campaign.
  • Develop and manage an editorial calendar for Blueprint JD Blog content.
  • Organize and host a live Q&A chat on law school admissions.
  • Administer the annual board evaluation process.
  • Write feature articles on diversity in the legal profession.

Blueprint JD is looking for self-motivated students who possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, enthusiasm for Blueprint JD’s mission, and the ability to commit 3-5 hours a week during the 2012-2013 academic year. Successful candidates will also have a history of community service and experience working in teams.

This unpaid, volunteer program is open to undergraduate and graduate students nationwide. However, preference will be given to students in the D.C. metro area. Interested students should apply using our Online Application Form before December 15, 2012. Should you have an interest, please be sure to work with your college or university to ensure that they would accommodate a credit-based internship experience as part of your degree program.
